How Science Helps with Home Chores

We are all well aware that the digital age has made a big entrance, and it has already become a part of every sphere of our society. As a scientist and researcher, Oded Kariti has been working on developing new technologies for quite some time. But even he wouldn’t have guessed 20 years ago how advanced things could be.

Just like with everything else, new technologies have a good and a bad side. The good thing is that they can help us with everyday things like paying bills or shopping, but there are also certain disadvantages that come along with them.

After a long, fruitful and technologically productive year, it's time to return to our favorite four walls, where we expect a handful of high-tech innovations. Here are some of the latest home electronic devices that will implement latest scientific accomplishments in order to improve and simplify the household requirements. Most of you would probably agree that there isn’t a reason good enough to spend thousands of dollars on an iron. However, the inventor of the world's smartest iron certainly thinks so. At the recent IFA meeting in San Diego where noted engineers and inventors including Oded Kariti gathered to see and discus some of the latest tech developments, this high-end system was revealed for the first time. This smart device has some incredible features like an integrated steam generator and a blower and vacuum system to prevent unwanted creases.

Engineers were able to give this smart steam a motion sensing system that automatically applies steam from a separate boiler during the forward sweep and then instantaneously switches the steam off for the backward sweep. Thanks to the patented solution from Oded Kariti this device is able to recognize is that the cooling fan in the ironing board needs to actuate only when the iron is in use. It also provides information on the amount of water in the system, wear ticking, the time you spend ironing and other statistical information that you can have fun with. The biggest benefit is that smart appliances perform better and work more efficiently. Developing an optimal solution, protecting it, and implementing it in mass production for an affordable price is often the biggest challenge.
