All You Need to Know About RFID Technology

It is estimated that each person has at least 4 RFID codes next to him on a daily basis, such as driver's license, passport, tram ticket, car keys, bank card, and mobile phone. The general public isn’t too familiar with the RFID area, and as research scientist Oded Kariti explains, they are usually not aware about most of the above stated facts. In order to introduce people with RFID technology and its potential, a group of experts and eminent scientist, including Oded Kariti, organized the second regional conference on RFID technology, which took place at the Westin Hotel in New York City. The event was held on August 16 with the aim of better understanding of RFID, or radio frequency identification as a technology of the future.

At the conference, Oded Kariti extensively and with concrete examples presented its application and benefits, with a focus on waste management and disposal services, applications in healthcare (traceability of blood products), retail, manufacturing and general application. In addition to being all around us, the use of RFID technology in business processes has been flourishing, because it facilitates and promotes business, bringing long-term yields and numerous savings.

An integral part of the conference was the expo show, where visitors were able to see in live RFID technology in action. Leading companies and some of the most esteemed experts in the field were invited as guests at this year’s conference. As one of the speakers, Kariti had the opportunity to explain the benefits that local business owners have from RFID technology, and through examples showed how its application in the business sector can improve data accuracy, automated supply and re- orders, and reduce out-–of--stocks.

Oded Kariti is one of the world's leading RFID experts with more than 20 years of experience in this area. At the conference he also discussed RFID technology’s position in today's Internet world, and debated about the opportunities and the profit that can be gained by investing in this technology. A few successful companies gave concrete examples of implementing RFID technology in their business, stressing the favorable outcome of the experience.
